Understanding how to build entrepreneurial economies is an important skill set for any economic development professional. Even in regions that depend on legacy industries and companies for economic vitality, businesses are continuously investing in new technologies, equipment and manufacturing processes in order to remain productive and competitive. Economic development leaders must understand how these industries are changing; what they require to continue operating profitably; and the programs and resources they can leverage to support these industry sectors.
NYSEDC’s 2012 TBED conference will focus on these issues, as well the qualities and characteristics a community should develop in order to support and build an entrepreneurial climate for growth.
