Morris Hatchery, Inc. a poultry/game egg hatching business located in Florida, Morris wanted to expand its business to take advantage of the Canadian Market.
A site was needed to build a 25,000 s.f. facility that had to be in close proximity to the Canadian Border. A business climate that was friendly and cost effective.
Five acres in the Jefferson County Corporate Park (JCIDA owner) were purchased by the Company to build their building on because Empire Zone benefits could be utilized, the land was ‘shovel ready', was adjacent to I81 and 30 miles from the Canadian border. Low interest loans were able through the JCIDA RLF and the North Country Alliance Loan Funds. The Company opened for business in the third quarter of 2008 and employs 26 people.
